This contemporary tagine dish was made for me by an American ceramicist.
The modern tones of brown and black turn this into a contemporary piece of art. I have used it for display, but it is made for cooking tagines! It would fit right at home in an art gallery .
The word tagine refers to the tagine pot and also to the food that is prepared in it.
I am downscaling and am selling many of my Moroccan style heirlooms.
This tagine measures:
14-inches high
And
12-inches in diameter.
It is signed on the base.
Richard Osborne 1986,
a well-known art teacher in San Diego County.
Fully glazed and oven proof. It will hold enough food for 10 to 12 people. I placed an artificial pear inside to show the scale.
You can cook with it in the oven, cover the base with foil, and then add the lid to serve. Part of serving a tagine and experiencing in true Moroccan style is to serve the tagine with its lid, lift the lid off so your guests can swoon at the aromas. True!
It weighs about 5 lbs empty.
I do not wish to ship it since it is a delicate piece… though if someone out of San Diego County is interested, we can talk about the best way to send.
Pick up in Vista CA, by appointment or by other arrangements discussed previously.
