For Sale: Cookbooks from my personal collection

Like many food lovers, I  own shelf upon shelf of cookbooks on a variety of subjects, and space is tight! This forces me to part with a handful of Moroccan cookbooks, and books about Morocco in my personal collection, simply because I have duplicates. Please contact me directly for details.

 IN FRENCH: La Cuisine Marocaine par Latifa Benani Smires. Introduction by Raymond Oliver. Photos Roland de Vassal. 21×28 cm. approx. Editions Alpha Geam, Casablanca, 1974 (out of print). ISBN  2-86562-000-x. Numero editeur: 1002. One of the best known Moroccan cookbook authors who writes in French. Interior and cover in excellent condition for the age of the book. Dust jacket is in poor condition, with rips along edges and spine. This book was in my father’s collection, and I am selling it because I have a duplicate. Asking price: USD50.

Interior and cover in excellent condition. Dust jacket has a tiny rip along front edge and on back. Even in Morocco, this would be a collector’s item. Asking price: USD95

 Good Housekeeping Book of Menus, Recipes, and Household Discoveries. Published by Good Housekeeping, NY, 1922. Hardcover, no dust jacket. Great condition.

SOLD: The Yemenite Cookbook. Levi, Zion; Agabria, Hani. Seaver Books, 1988. First printing. Cover at top of spine shows some shelf wear. Reference (and cookbook). Jacket and cover new. Inside new, except for slight yellowing commensurate with age.

 Chinese Cuisine. Wei-Chuan Cooking Book. Huang Su Huei. Copyright 1974. # 4160. 1976 edition, with new introduction from the author.  BILINGUAL BOOK: Recipes and text in ENGLISH and in CHINESE. All recipes illustrated. 221 pages. Great reference for ingredients and vegetables, in Chinese and English, with accompanying illustrations. List of menus for everyday meals and for banquets. handbook for anyone who wants to deepen their knowledge of Chinese cuisine. Purchased in Taipei (Formosa) about 30 years ago, and never used. Dust jacket has minor tear in one corner due to shelf wear. Otherwise in excellent condition.

 L’Art Culinaire Francais (IN FRENCH). Flammarion, 1950. A French classic. Binding is a bit loose at front cover. Interior in great shape

 IN ENGLISH; MY FIRST COOKBOOK: by Kitty Morse: Come with me to the Kasbah: A Cook’s Tour of Morocco by Kitty Morse (SERAR, Casablanca, 1989, out of print.)   Illustrated by ten of Morocco’s leading contemporary artists, and 3 American artists. Recipes from family and friends. I only have 3 copies left. This book was selling in Morocco for USD75.00 in 1985!

 IN FRENCH: CASABLANCA RETRO de 1889 a Nos Jours. Editions SERAR, Casablanca, 1988. Documents reunis par Flandrin.  Edition en fac-simile. 45 plates (planches) showing the same landscape at one date, then a few years later. One page shows 2 photos and opposite has explanatory text. ONE LEFT (12/2014). Unique book filled with reproductions of historic photographs taken between 1890 and 1928 by Marcelin Flandrin, Morocco’s best known architectural and landscape photographer.   ONLY 900 numbered copies published: This is one of the first(because SERAR published my own cookbook, Come with me to the Kasbah, at the same time. Asking price: $125.00
