You can go home again! July 2026!

I di! I did! and it isn’t Casablanca, where I was born.. No, sir.

It is Milwaukee, WIS, where I went to university, and where I met my husband, Owen. I needed to set my feet in familiar places, in effect, return to my American “roots.” It was the best trip, and I will write more about it later: Familiar places, familiar faces, familiar walks and sights and sounds.. Loved IT! Milwaukee is a great city with a gorgeous lakefront and, if it weren’t so cold in the winter, I would consider returning (part time!!)

I also was invited to speak about Bitter Sweet: A Wartime Journal and Heirloom Recipes from Occupied France to several organizations I was familiar with:

The Alliance Française de Milwaukee:

Did you know that Milwaukee is home to many francophiles? Their Alliance is one of the most active in the United States. Indeed, I arrived in the midst of Bastille Bays, La Prise de la Bastille–the largest such festival in the US!! Formidable et tres sympa– and excellent beignets.

They even have their own weekly radio program on Riverwest radio: Ecoutez ici!
