A bouquet for the Fourth of July
July 2013:
As some of you know, I have been all over the county speaking at our wonderful libraries. Why not join me at one of the upcoming events? A short demonstration on how to make your own preserved lemons concludes my “chats”.
“Sip a glass of iced mint tea, and discover the culture and cuisine of my native Morocco.
The 50-minute Power Point presentation takes you inside our family’s historic riad (Moorish mansion), introduces some of my friends and relatives in Morocco, and discloses the history and techniques behind family recipes, from exotic stews known as tagines, to couscous, and bestila, the crowning dish of Morocco’s culinary repertoire. A book signing and food sampling follows the presentation.”
A Taste of Morocco:
If you are the program chair of a book club or other organization, I would happy to plan a program for you. I can approach my presentation from a number of angles.
For those interested in food and culture:
-A 45-minute Power Point presentation on Moroccan cuisine and culture. A short cooking demonstration followed by a sampling and a book signing.
For those more interested in the literary aspect:
-A reading from the book followed by a discussion, question and answers.
Sampling
For those interested in WRITING such a book:
Why a memoir with food?
Writing a book proposal/Sketch out your own book proposal
How to write a recipe for the American market

Ms. Morse,
It was such a pleasure to meet you at the Bonita Library event on Saturday! As I told you, “Cooking at the Kasbah”one of my all time favorite cookbooks, and I am so excited to try out the recipes in “Mint Teat and Minarets.” I really enjoyed your talk, and I hope to have more opportunities to hear you speak or watch you cook in the future. Thanks so much for making the trip down to our neck of the woods!
Regards,
Courtney Bussell
Any presentations in August past the 1st.? Regards, Ron
No, I am giving no more presentations until November, when I will be cooking at Macy’s Mission Valley.
I have time in October, if you would be interested in having me talk to a group.
Thanks,
KM
Dear Kitty,
I picked up your book at the Del Mar library and was so happy to see there’s another soul here in San Diego with a background similar to mine. I was born in Tangier and also lived in Casablanca, where I went to the Ecole Anatole France. I would love to meet you and have a nostalgic chat. I haven’t been back to Casa since we left in 1962 but Morocco is still in my heart. Please e-mail me if you have a chance.
Warmest regards,
Eva
